Challenges in Toy Sourcing
Toy regulations are among the strictest in consumer products. Getting them wrong means unsellable stock, recalls, or legal liability. We prevent this by selecting experienced factories, testing early, and documenting everything.
We start by selecting factories with a track record of producing EN71-compliant toys. Material certificates are verified before production begins. During development, we review the product design for compliance risks (small parts, sharp edges, chemical content). Pre-shipment samples are sent to accredited EU laboratories for formal EN71 testing. Products that fail are corrected before the batch ships.
The General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) came into effect in December 2024 and strengthens requirements for product traceability, labelling, and documentation for all consumer products sold in the EU — including toys. M-Asia ensures that your product packaging, labels, and import documentation meet GPSR requirements, including the mandatory EU responsible person details.
We review age grading based on the toy’s intended use, features, and small-parts risk assessment. Warning labels are designed according to the Toy Safety Directive and included on packaging and product. We verify correct placement and content during pre-shipment inspection.
